Botanical Flowers in Watercolour 2-Day Workshop | Jessie Rose Ford
We are delighted to announce that Jessie Rose Ford is coming back to Brisbane!
In this two-day workshop Jessie will guide you through her step-by-step process to create your own botanical painting of a Yellow Wattle from a photograph. Over the two days you will be shown how to master important watercolour techniques, specifically for use on botanicals, while learning the process of layering watercolours to achieve a realistic painting.
What will I learn?
• An easy method for transferring an outline drawing from your photograph
• Basic colour theory
• Matching and mixing the correct colour
• Using masking fluid
• Watercolour techniques including wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry and dry brush
• How to avoid muddy watercolour paintings
Who is this workshop suitable for?
This workshop welcomes students of all experience levels, from beginners to advanced.
What do I need to bring?
Paper:
300gsm Smooth/ Hot Press Brand – Fabriano – White
Paints:
Winsor & Newton - Lemon Yellow, Permanent Rose, Winsor Blue (Green Shade), New Gamboge, Scarlet Lake, Cobalt Optional, Burnt Umber, Payne’s Grey
Brushes:
Roymac Revolution Round, sizes 00, 2 & 6
Alternately, rent a kit for $45 which will include everything you will need for the 2 day workshop!
Please bring your lunch and snacks or you can purchase from cafes close by.
